Forum # 1: Topics in Economic Sustainability

First speaker, 6 pm: Cheryl Sesnon, Washington CASH Executive Director
Washington CASH is an institution that supports microenterprise development for people with limited incomes, using microcredit lending and lender support practices first modeled by the Grameen Bank.
Film, 7:15 pm: "Muhammad Yunus: Banker to the Poor"
Dr. Yunus won the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for his work as founder of the Grameen Bank, a microcredit lending institution in Bangladesh that empowers the poorest of the poor. The success of the Grameen Bank has inspired the growing microcredit movement around the world.
FArt Exhibit: CPR Aiyar Foundation Project
Tribal art from the mountains of southern India will be shown for the first time in the United States. Proceeds will benefit a tribal school in the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.
Tickets $ 5 (+ $10 for attending teachers who want 3 clock hours)
