Billings Middle School is committed to educating a student body that is economically and socially diverse. Our financial aid program is designed to assist us in achieving this diversity by allocating available financial assistance as fairly as possible. Independent school education is a family’s choice which Billings supports through this program. Our policies ensure that we use the same guidelines for each family as we evaluate your family’s needs relative to the needs of other families in our school community.
Our policy is to provide financial aid awards based on the demonstrated need of the family. As a result, our awards range from a small amount of assistance up to almost the entire cost of tuition. We do expect every family to pay some tuition.
We use the Parents' Financial Statement, designed by the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS), as well as the family’s income tax returns and other financial information, to help us determine the contribution your family should make towards educational expenses.
Families should submit their application through the SSS website. Applying online is less costly and allows Billings to make a quicker decision on your eligibility for financial aid. If you would like to apply through a paper form, please contact the Billings Business Office for a paper application.
Please note these important Financial Aid Deadlines for 2014-2015
Even though the school provides a large amount of financial aid, our funds are not limitless. When we make a financial aid award, we assume the family’s situation will remain consistent for the three years at Billings. However, each year we ask all families who are receiving aid to submit their most recent financial information to guide the award committee in determining the current level of need. Students who first apply for financial aid after sixth grade are unlikely to receive a significant award because most funds already have been allocated.
