Types of Cyberbullying
by 7th grade student Marco
Cyberbullying is easy because it is a simple way of bullying by text messages, or internet such as Myspace, Facebook and emails. Well, it makes it easier because it is not in front of someone’s face and you do not have too deal with them when you say it. From participating in cyberbullying, you can get caught very easily and depending on what you said, can even be sent to jail. Not too mention that it will hurt people’s feelings on a large scale.
There are names for certain ways too cyberbully such as:
- Posing – This is when you pretend to be someone else over the internet, you do this from using a friends mysapce/facebook information and be a total jerk to people. Usually this happens when a couple breaks up and one of them has a fit and tries to get them hated.
- Flaming – is usually a huge, but quickly-ended argument, that has offense, rude, and terrible language. Usually they insult you/threat you. This can happen by texts, instant message, or by any website, and gaming sites.
- Outing – This is when your “best friend” sends you a very personal secret and tells you not too tell ANYONE, But instead you send it too people and tell everyone.
- Excluding – If you get a friend request on mysapce/facebook, and you deny it. If you are having a conversation, and you do not let a certain person join in on it.
- Bashing – is when you say whatever you want about too the person, on your account, on your phone, or on your email, they know its you who is saying it. Sometimes people post blogs about this and make fun of the certain person. In some cases, kids take a photo of the kid they are picking on and alter it/draw on it saying bad things/gestures.
A way too stop cyberbullying is by not giving out ANY passwords/information to websites, or games. Also, if you are going too tell a friend a deep secret, it is a good idea not too do it by email, if not at all. Also, be open about letting people in on your group, remember the kids have feeling also. And lastly, know who you are speaking too when you “bash”, think about the consequences that it will lead into, more importantly, have a heart and if you must say anything bad, just let it slide.
