The 6th grade students each wrote a country report on a different place in the world.  In tech, we supported this learning by mapping the countries of interest on a map.

In the process we talked about:

  • the use of images on the Internet (who owns what, who can use what)
  • combining information to make something new (a map and our country reports)
  • companies that give things away for free (in this case Google’s mapping functionality)
  • writing for the Web (bullets, short sentences and paragraphs)

You can see the results of our test on the BMS country report page.  Click either on the name of the country in the list to the left or on a red dot to learn more about each location.
