Join us for an introduction to the Billings community, faculty, programs, and current and alumni students and families. Prospective students are encouraged to attend. Contact Maggie Beeson, Director of Admissions, for more information: use our website contact form or call 206 971-3102.
Note on Early-Bird Application Deadline: the December 17th early-bird deadline does not give applications any special consideration. However, it does provide first pick at scheduling student Visit Days and Parent Interviews, and there is a discounted application fee of $65.
Billings has a reputation for a personal and thorough admissions process. As part of this process, student applicants are required to attend an all day (8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.) Visit Day where they attend both academic and elective classes within an applicant cohort group. The day also includes opportunities for applicants to interact with current students and Billings faculty. For parents, each Visit Day includes a morning coffee to meet other applicant families, a group Q & A session with our Head of School, and a tour of our facilities (8:30 – 10:30 a.m.).
There are four Visit Days scheduled for the 2008-09 admissions season plus a make-up Visit Day in early March:
As part of completing the core application form, you will be asked to indicate your top three Visit Day choices. You will be contacted as soon as your application form is received by the Admissions Office to confirm your family’s assigned Visit Day.
When you are contacted to confirm your Visit Day, you will also be asked to schedule a 45-minute Parent Interview sometime between mid-January and early March. Both parents are asked to attend if possible, and interviews are held at Billings with two members of the Admissions Committee. The purpose of the interview is to follow-up on the Visit Day, to answer additional questions you may have, and to provide you with an opportunity to discuss your student in greater depth.
